Red Corner: Andrew Sharp

Details: As the first fighter makes their entrance via the raised
catwalk, the crowd goes crazy! A major highlight of the event was the
fighter entrance stage - a major COH tradition. The entire crowd (a full
house) erupted and roared. Both fighters enter the cage and go to their
assigned corners. Referee Brandon Schwinn provides pre-bout instructions
to both fighters, touching them up and sending them to their corners.
Round 1 begins. Both fighters respectively circle analyzing each
other¢s game. Starting the action, Byrd throws a strong leg kick which is
checked by Sharp followed by some good stand-up combos. Both Sharp and
Byrd exchange strategically placed blows. Seeing the opportunity, Byrd
shoots in landing a takedown and immediately moves to full mount on Sharp.
After composing his posture, Byrd starts dropping bombs with some very
thorough ground-n-pound. Sharp, feeling the pressure makes every
attempt to clinch Byrd and re-gain control, but is
unsuccessful. The ground-n-pound continues forcing Referee Brandon
Schwinn to call a stop to the bout at 1:05 of Round 1. Crowd goes crazy
for the opening bout.

Winner: Charles Byrd, TKO - Strikes @ 1:05 of Round 1

Bout: 2
Red Corner: Jonathan Leech
Blue Corner: Aaron Chase
Weight: 170 lbs (Welterweight)

Details: As these fighters make their entrance to the cage, the
immediate fan favorite is easily identified as Aaron Chase, making his
entrance in a grey Army PT shirt and matching vale tudo shorts.
Referee Schwinn provides pre-bout instructions and touches them up.
Fighters proceed back to their respective corners. Bout begins with both
fighters aggressively moving into position in the center of the cage.
The action starts fast in this bout, with Chase jabbing in and throwing a
well placed overhand right, following it up with a strong double-leg
takedown landing him side control over Leech. Chase goes to work,
showing his experience with some strong ground-n-pound including some very
powerful hammer-fists, forcing Referee Schwinn to call a stop to the
contest at 0:49 of the opening round.

Winner: Aaron Chase, TKO - Strikes @ 0:49 of Round 1

Bout: 3
Red Corner: Josh Weldon
Blue Corner: Daniel Winans
Weight: 145 lbs (Featherweight)

Details: This bout really was an incredible display of technical
proficiency and experience. After both fighters make their entrances and are
given instructions by the referee, the bout begins. Showing respect,
both fighters touch gloves and circle each other working to gain ring
control. The action starts very quickly with stand-up exchange by both
fighters, initiated by Winans. Following some brief exchange of connecting
jabs, Winans clinches with Weldon and takes the fight to the ground,
landing in Weldon¢s closed guard. Both fighter¢s show their
experience and patience as they work to improve their positions. Winans, seeing
opportunity to pass the guard, starts with some good ground-n-pound
landing selective shots on Weldon, but is stopped by Weldon keeping
Winans close and tight, causing inactivity which forces the referee to bring
the fighter¢s back to their feet.
Both fighter¢s circle each other and exchange jabs. Seeing another
opportunity, Winans¢ shoots and takes Weldon down, landing again in
Weldon¢s closed guard. Trying for a reversal, Weldon works for a kimura
to sweep, but Winans slips out and stands up, but keeps Weldon on his
back. Winans starts to throw some bombs from a standing position, but
misses and falls right into the working guard of Weldon, who immediately
transitions his position and locks in a textbook triangle choke. As
Weldon cranks the choke, the bell sounds signaling the end of Round 1.
Both fighters return to their corners for round change.
Round 2 begins with some stand-up exchange by both fighters. Weldon
takes a chance and shoots in on Winans but Winans sprawls and reverses the
shot, turning the tables and again putting Weldon on his back. Weldon
works again for a triangle choke. As an attempt to free himself from
the tight submission, Winans tries for a slam but is rolled over placing
Weldon on top with a deep locked in triangle choke. Seeing the
opportunity, Weldon begins some un-blocked ground-n-pound right to Winans¢
face and tightens the triangle choke forcing a tap out by Winans at 2:28
of Round 2.

Winner: Josh Weldon, Submission - Triangle Choke @ 2:28 of Round 2

Bout: 4
Red Corner: Jesse Rountree
Blue Corner: Jesse Dick
Weight: 155 lbs (Lightweight)

Details: Referee Powell steps in for this bout and provides instruction
to both fighters. Bout begins. Both fighters meet in the center and
briefly circle each other, looking for an opportunity to close the gap
and take the fight to the ground. Seeing an opening, Rountree shoots in
and scores a takedown, but lands in the closed guard of Dick. Dick
attempts a guillotine choke on Rountree, but Rountree slips out and the
fight goes to the feet. Fighters clinch up and go back to the ground with
both fighters working to gain a dominant position on the mat. Each
fighter works the ground game with various punch exchange. Fighters end up
in a north/south position, where Dick attempts a kimura to end the
fight, but is reversed by Rountree which opens up ground-n-pound positioning
for Dick. Dick starts with the unanswered ground-n-pound, forcing
Referee Powell to call a stop to the bout at 2:59 of Round 1.

Winner: Jesse Dick, TKO - Strikes @ 2:59 of Round 1

Bout: 5
Red Corner: Eddie King
Blue Corner: Brady Gershtner
Weight: 155 lbs (Lightweight)

Details: Fighters make their entrance. Referee gives pre-bout
instructions and touches the fighters up. Bout starts with both fighters
circling in the center of the cage. Starting the action, King throws a solid
leg kick, enticing Gershtner to shoot in and take the fight to the mat.
Gershtner works for dominant position and transitions to back control
over King. Gershtner works the back control looking for a rear-naked
choke. King reverses his position, but ends up underneath Gershtner in
full mount. Seeing a straight arm, Gershtner attempts an armbar, but King
quickly pulls out. End of Round 1.
Round 2 starts with both fighters circling each other in the center of
the cage. Gershtner throws a strong left hook and goes in for the
clinch. Gershtner lifts King off the mat and slams King hard, landing in
side mount, to full mount. Gershtner starts dropping some strong
ground-n-pound. Seeing an armbar opportunity, Gershtner transitions from mount
to a textbook armbar, forcing King to tap ending the bout at 2:12 of
Round 2.

Winner: Brady Gershtner, Submission - Armbar @ 2:12 of Round 2

Bout: 6
Red Corner: Billy Cowan
Blue Corner: Billy Walker
Weight: 170 lbs (Welterweight)

Details: This bout was extremely fast paced. Both fighter touched
gloves and circle, looking for opportunity to advance. Walker throws an
over-hand right, which misses forcing Cowan to move in for a clinch. Cowan,
controlling the brief clinch, uses his momentum to pick up and slam
Walker face first to the mat, causing a full KO. This forces Referee
Powell to stop the bout at 0:14 of the opening round.

Winner: Billy Cowan, KO - Slam @ 0:14 of Round 1

Bout: 7
Red Corner: Kenny Anderson
Blue Corner: Jermaine Brumfield
Weight: 225 lbs (Heavyweight)

Details: From the very start, the obvious fan favorite was Brumfield as
the crowd went crazy during his introduction. Referee Schwinn gives
instructions and fighters move to their corners. Bout begins with both
fighters meeting in the center of the cage and circling each other.
Brumfield initiates the action with a kick-punch combo immediately into a
tight thai clinch. Brumfield begins throwing some devastating knees to
the mid-section of Anderson in a very textbook fashion. Brumfield,
controlling the pace of the fight, moves in for and lands a hard takedown.
Anderson, feeling the pressure uses the cage and stands, trying for a
standing guillotine choke. Brumfield squeezes out and takes the fight back
to the ground. After some brief inactivity on the ground, referee
Schwinn stands the fighters up. The fighters circle each other looking for
their next move. Brumfield moves in for the clinch again and starts
with some very good stand-up combos, all landing
on their designated targets. After some brief inactivity in the
clinch, referee Schwinn again breaks up the fighters. Again, they circle
briefly. Brumfield throws a strong leg kick then shoots in and takes
Anderson to the mat. Time then ran out, ending the first round. Anderson then
informed referee Schwinn that he could not answer the bell for the
second round, ending this bout.

Winner: Jermaine Brumfield, TKO - Opponent Could Not Answer Bell for Rd
2 @ 0:00 of Round 2

Bout: 8
Red Corner: Jesse Belloir
Blue Corner: Damen Moore
Weight: 170 lbs (Welterweight)

Details: Referee provides pre-bout instructions. Fighters meet in the
center of the cage. The action is fast during this bout with Moore
throwing a hard right, landing a knockdown on Belloir. Moore immediately
attacks and quickly obtains full mount position over Belloir. Moore starts
dropping bombs with some extreme ground-n-pound, forcing Belloir to
roll over and give up his back. Moore looks for the rear-naked choke, but
is stood up due to inactivity. Again, Moore shoots in and takes
Belloir down and immediately transitions into full mount. Again, Moore starts
dropping some very solid shots to Belloir forcing him to tap and the
referee to call a stop to the contest at 1:57 of Round 1.

Winner: Damon Moore, Tap Out - Strikes @ 1:57 of Round 1

Bout: 9
Red Corner: Eric Lawson
Blue Corner: David Meyers
Weight: 155 lbs (Lightweight)

Details: This bout was for the COH Lightweight Championship. As the
fighters make their entrances, the visible crowd favorite is Lawson, with
the entire crowd singing along with his entrance music.
Referee Schwinn gives instructions to the fighters. Fighter touch
gloves and go back to their corners.
Bout begins with Meyers setting up and landing a solid double-leg
takedown on Lawson. Meyers immediately improves his position into full mount
and starts with some solid ground-n-pound. Lawson, using his ground
experience, sweeps Meyers and moves from bottom to top control. Meyers
attempts a guillotine choke, but Lawson pulls out. Using Lawson¢s
momentum, Meyers reverses the position and acquires mount position. Each
fighter continues to improve their position as they move to a north/south
position. Lawson, seeing an opening, slides his knees in and obtains
full guard on Meyers. Meyers uses his strong wrestling experiences to
pass the guard and move to side control. Meyers starts throwing leather
down from side mount, which forces Lawson to take cover. As this happens,
Meyers moves to full mount and continues the ground-n-pound, forcing
Lawson to keep covered up. Seeing that Lawson was in trouble and not
improving his position or answering Meyers
blows, Referee Schwinn called a stop to the bout at 2:12 of Round 1
making Meyers the new Lightweight Champion.

Winner: David Meyers, TKO - Strikes @ 2:12 of Round 1

Bout: 10
Red Corner: Nathan Presley
Blue Corner: Shad Lankford
Weight: 145 lbs (Featherweight)

Details: This bout was for the COH Featherweight Championship. As both
fighters make their way down the catwalk, the obvious fan favorite is
Lankford as he walks out wearing 3 Title Belts.
Fighters are given instructions by the referee and sent back to
corners.
The bout begins with an immediate knee by Presley, answered by a strong
takedown by Lankford, placing Lankford in side mount. Presley works
for position and soon acquires full guard. Lankford picks up Lawson and
slams him to the mat and continues to work to improve his position and
control. Lankford passes Lawson¢s guard and obtains side control.
Lankford works and pins Lawson¢s arm between his legs and starts some
ground-n-pound. Lawson turns over giving his back to Lankford. Lankford
moves from back mount to side mount and starts blasting Lawson¢s
mid-section with knees. Lawson, feeling the knees works Lankford back into
full guard. Lankford again uses his ground skills to pass the guard of
Lawson and moves into full mount. Lawson again gives his back up and us
subsequently forced to tap to a deep rear-naked choke at 2:57 of the
opening round.

Winner: Shad Lankford, Submission - Rear-Naked Choke @ 2:57 of Round 1

Bout: 11
Red Corner: Jason Aldridge
Blue Corner: Melvin Jordan
Weight: 185 lbs (Middleweight)

respective corners. This bout was definitely a crowd favorite as they
roared during the entire bout.
Fight begins with fighters touching gloves and circling each other.
Both exchange some light jabs working to gain a dominant position and
attack.
Jordan moves in for the thai clinch and starts with some strong
mid-section knees. Aldridge shoots in, but is reversed by Jordan leaving
Jordan in the closed guard of Aldridge. Aldridge isolates Jordan¢s arm and
throws his leg over locking in a tight armbar which forces Jordan to
tap at 0:51 of Round 1 making Aldridge the new COH Middleweight
Champion.
